Furry sad news

Little TiggyThere's a lovely senior catizen called Tiggy who's appeared on this blog a few times. We are furry sad to report that she went to the Rainbow Bridge. She was furry, furry senior (over 20 years old) and had gotten furry frail, so she decided that it was time.

Tiggy had a furry long, happy and healthy life with lots of cuddles, food, nice places to nap and beans who told her everyday how lovely she was.

Little TiggyTiggy was still in good spirits even only a couple of weeks before she went to the Bridge. The last time Jasmine saw Tiggy, Tiggy was asking Jasmine if she would share the ham off her pizza! :)

We are all furry sad, but Jasmine's mum is especially sad. Jasmine's mum is the bean who looked after Tiggy in her senior years, and who was cuddling Tiggy when it was finally time to go to the Bridge.

We love you Tiggy and we miss you.

The Calico Girls and CalicoMom are having a ceremony for Trixie over at the Big Piney Woods.

The lovely Miss Trixie
The times for 'Mericky are: 6pm Pacific; 7pm Mountain; 8pm Central; 9pm Eastern. For poodins in other parts of the world, this is 2am in London, 11am in Sydney, 9am in Singapore, 3am in Madrid. I hope I got that right! You can check for yourself on this time and date website.

All the poodins are invited of course, but if you can't make it, you can still leave a note for the Meezers on their blog, or at the post the Calico Girls will be creating for the ceremony.

We are all very sad to learn that Trixie went to The Bridge this morning.

We will all miss you Miss Trixie, but we are comforted to know that you had a long and happy life and that you are with your brofurs, Norton and Ralphie, now. We know how much you missed them, especially Norton.

Rest in Peace, Sweet Trixie.

Goodbye Little Tiffy

Jasmine just told me the very sad news about poor little Tiffy. It made her cry. It made me cry too. Jasmine got so upset about what happened that it gave her a headache and made her feel sick in her stomach. Poor little Tiffy was just a baby. How could anyone look at this darling little thing and send her off to be killed?

Little TiffySweet little Tiffy. Now gone forever, depsite the best efforts
of 5-Cat Style and The Flyer who tried desperately to save her.

I won't repeat the story here because it is too upsetting. If you want to know what happened, go over to 5-Cat Style and The Flyer and read the following entries:
Incidences like this remind us that not all beans a good animal beans. Some beans think that poodins are disposable items to be abandoned or killed when they don't feel like having them around anymore. No poodin, or woofy, or any furbaby deserves that.

When I read other poodin blogs, I am happy to see that there are plenty of good beans out there who love their kitties very much and give them everything they could ever need: plenty of food, a warm soft place to sleep, toys to play with, lots of love and scritches, and trips to the V.E.T. Yes, even the V.E.T.

I know none of us poodins like the V.E.T. but deep down inside we all know that our beans only make us visit the V.E.T. because they love us and want us to be healthy. And I know that sometimes when we want HAM our beans just give us crunchies, but seriously, if the worst thing that happens to us is that we have to eat crunchies sometimes instead of ham, and have to endure some V.E.T. visits, then we are pretty lucky poodins.

Obviously all poodins deserve to be treated with love and respect, but not all poodins are lucky enough to have such wonderful beans. Beans who treat their poodins with the same love and care as they would a little burpy thing or a little sticky person.

In memory of little Tiffy, I think those of us who are lucky enough to have wonderful beans should all give our beans extra big purrs and headbutts tonight to let them know that we really do appreciate them. And let's also be thankful for people like 5-Cat Style and The Flyer who try to do so much for poodins in need.
