Poodins on patrol

BKJasmine and Peter are having a nice little holiday in Hawaii to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. Jasmine loves Hawaii because (i) it's Hawaii; and (ii) it's where Jasmine and Peter got married last year!

When choosing the accommodation, Peter found a place which has two resident poodins, Tigger and Roo-Roo. Obviously a good choice if there are poodins living there! Jasmine told me that she's been giving pats to the poodins. I don't mind because I'm not a jealous poodin. I try to solicit pats from lots of different people, so I can't really get mad at Jasmine for giving pats to other poodins.

Tigger and Roo-Roo definitely deserve some good patting anyway because they have a furry important job to do...

This property protected by killer kitties on nightly catnip patrol
After some nice pats near the reception area, Tigger followed Jasmine to her room. He wanted to see where the person who gives such good pats was staying. Jasmine so wanted to invite him in for more pats, but decided she probably shouldn't given that the following sign was posted next to her door.

Please keep curious cat outside
There must be a lot of curious cats in the area where Jasmine and Peter are staying. A little way down the road at another vacation lodge, they saw this sign...

Please check in your car for curious cat
The other vacation lodge also posted this sign to let everyone know there is a senior catizen around. BTW, 'mahalo' is Hawaiian for 'thank you'.

One white spot

BKHi Poodin friends. Thanks so much for all the furry nice compliments you made about me in my most recent Midnight Monday picture. I really appreciate it! I'm furry purroud of my shiny furs, and I'm happy that poodins noticed how I made sure to coordinate with the colours in my choice of napping spots.

BTW, did you notice that my one-very-small-white-spot is visible in that picture? It's furry small, but you can see it if you know where to look. It's on the inside of my left ankle.

Skeezix's Cat Help blog: fav icon

BKSkeezix has set up a Cat Blog Help site for us poodins. Isn't that nice of him? If you are a bit confuzzed about how to do things on your bloggie, you can send Skeezix a question and he and his friends will try to help you.

I've already used Cat Blog Help to learn how to add a fav icon to my bloggie. Thanks to Rocky for posting this bit of advice!

Big lion poodin hugs woman who saved him

BKI saw this new article about a lion who gives big hugs and kisses to the nice bean who rescued him.

The poor lion poodin was found abused and starving in a travelling circus. The nice bean lady looked after him until he was strong and healthy again. Now he gives her great big lion hugs and kisses. Obviously big poodins appreciate being rescued as much as little poodins.

Someone has saved Molly from The Bridge!

BKJust saw some furry good news at Cat Blogosphere. A temporary place has been found for Molly, so she won't be sent to The Bridge! There have also been some contact from beans who might be able to offer Molly a furrever home. We're so happy and relieved!

Molly urgently needs a furrever home

Molly needs a homeKC just emailed us a very sad story about a sweet fluffy tuxie called Molly who desperately needs a furrever home. She is going to be sent to The Bridge if a home can't be found. Here is her story.

"Hi, my name is Molly. I am a sweet, loving, kitty cat that desperately needs someone with a place in their home and a place in their heart for me.

Several months ago, me and my sister, Maybelle lost our forever Mom very suddenly. She told us one day that she had to go to her people vet for a check up, but then Mom never came home. We found out later that Mom had passed away. Strangers came to feed us for a few days before a rescuer came and moved us to a foster home. We knew our foster mom may not be able to take us forever because she has lots of furry footed children that she takes care of every day. But she loved us and took good care of us and gave us a warm, dry, safe place to stay for a time.

Then, one day, we found out we were going to another foster home. When we got there, we found out it wasn't a good place for us. But our first foster Mom didn't know this. There were too many cats and what's more is, it wasn't clean. There were no clean places to sleep, no clean litter boxes where a girl could have a little privacy, and my sister and I got very depressed.

My sister was older than me and more fragile than me. One night, the very first cold night there was, my sister passed away. It was too much for her. Then, our second foster mom went away. She, too, went away to her people vet and didn't come back. I was lost. I didn't know the other cats I was with, there was no water, no electricity, and very little food, and I was alone and frightened without my sister. I began to lose weight. My pretty, long fur got matted, my eyes stung from the fumes of the filth in the place we were all cramped in to, and my eyes turned red and began to weep every day. I was getting sick and I thought I was going to die just like my sister.

Then, my first foster mom came back one day with another rescuer and they took all of us away. My first foster mom cried over me and said she was so sorry, and that she didn't know things would turn out the way they did. She said she wouldn't have left me there if she had known. I am now getting better, I'm gaining a little weight and little by little she is helping me get the mats out of my fur and helping me to feel like my old self. I have a clean litter box, clean water, and a clean, warm place to sleep.

However, I still need a permanent home. As much as my foster mom wishes she had a place for me, I understand she already has lots of commitments to others just like me. I know it pains her that I've had to go through so much. I know she hurts over the loss of my sister just like I do. She knows it's going to be hard for me to find a home because I'm not a kitten anymore, and very few people want to give grown up cats homes. Everyone wants a little cute kitten to cuddle.

I sure do wish I could have a permanent home. I sure do wish I could curl up in someone's warm lap and purr for them like I used to with my forever mom. I wish someone wanted me. I wish I could be loved again like I used to be. I wonder every day if there is anyone out there that would want to take me. I promise I am a good girl, and I have lots more love and happiness to give.

Won't someone give me a chance? Won't someone give me hope?

Thank you for listening,

Sincerely, Molly"

Molly is about 10 years old and weighs 5.7 lbs. She is negative on feline AIDS and leukemia, and has had her shots. Molly is spayed and gets along fine with dogs. She seems to be ok with other cats so far. Copies of her vet records can be provided. She is currently in Gastonia, just over the Meck County line, not far from Charlotte. Transportation can be arranged.

If you can help Molly, please contact Renee at dinidog AT bellsouth DOT net.

Poodin gets credit card

BKThis nice lady got her poodin, Messiah, a credit card. The bank didn't worry about checking ID before issuing the credit card, but when they later discovered that Messiah was a poodin, they cancelled his card!

I'm a very friendly poodin

Hi Poodins. Y'know, I'm a very friendly poodin. One of the most friendly poodins a bean could ever meet. I'm not one of those scaredy shy poodins who only lets certain beans near them. I will be friends with anybean who makes even a small attempt to be friends with me.

Why is this? Well, one of the main reasons is because I LOVE scritchies and tummy tickles SO MUCH. I love them more than roast chicken, and even MORE than ham (yes Miles, it's true, I do!) If I was a scaredy poodin and ran away from every nice bean who tried to pat me, then where would that leave me? It would leave me with far fewer scritchies, that's where!

It's true that Jasmine's scritchies and tummy tickles are THE BEST EVER, but I guess if other beans don't get a chance to practice, then how are they going to become experienced scritchers like Jasmine? So, really, I'm performing a very important service for the scaredy shy poodins by allowing all friendly beans to practice their scritching on me.

CATopoly

Check out this awesome present that Peter gave Jasmine two Christmas' ago.

Cat-opoly
It's Monopoly, but it's all about cats! Obviously this is much better than regular Monopoly. Jasmine thought so too.

Jasmine playing Cat-opoly
Peter won most of the games of Cat-opoly. I'm not sure if this is because Peter is the better Monopoly player, or because strategy went straight out the window for Jasmine once it became all about cats. Every time she got an opportunity to adopt a poodin, she couldn't resist taking it!
